Why is the certification costly?

cascad is a non-profit certification agency created by academics with the support of the French National Science Foundation (CNRS) and a consortium of research institutions. Our goal is to provide researchers with an innovative tool allowing them to signal the reproducibility of their research.

However, the certification is costly for two reasons. First, the fees are used to pay external referees and make the service viable. Second, the fees create incentives for researchers to provide high-quality numerical resources when requesting a certification.

Types of certification

The certification cost depends on the number of tables and figures to be certified.

cascad offers three certification options. The “main” option (up to 3 items) allows certifying the main computational results of your scientific publication. The options “extended” (up to 10 items) or “full” (up to 20 items) corresponds to more extensive certifications.

The certification for a "main" option is free. Notice that, whatever the option chosen, the certification is also free within the cascad - CASD agreement. For more details see our Confidentiality section.
